
Eagles Finish Second at Red Bandanna Invitational

Pogorelc and Hong finish second and third; BC two shots behind West Virginia
VERONA, N.Y. -- Boston College's Jack Pogorelc and Ben Hong finished second and third, respectively at the inaugural Red Bandanna Invitational at the Turning Stone Resort's Kalyuhat course. As a team, the Eagles finished second overall, two strokes behind West Virginia.
Pogorelc finished second overall, at 2-under par for the weekend. The sophomore carded scores of 71 and 70 during Sunday's opening two rounds of play before closing out the tournament on Monday with a 73. It is his highest collegiate finish for a 54-hole tournament. Last season at the same event, Pogorelc tied for 40th (77-79-75=231).
Hong finished third overall. After playing Sunday's first two rounds at even par, Hong carded a 1-under 71 during the final 18 holes of competition. His opening round 69 was the team's lowest round of the tournament.
Cameron Harlock tied for seventh place. After going out 3-over through the first 36 holes of play, Harlock played his best round of the tournament on Monday with a 1-under 71.
Mac Bredahl tied for 26th place (71-78-78), with his best round coming during Sunday morning's opening session. Christian Emmerich tied for 54th place (79-78-82). Markus Lam, competing as an individual in his first collegiate tournament, tied for 41st place (82-74-79). Ben Paylor also made his BC debut this weekend, finishing 79th.
Boston College returns to action on Sept. 18-19 at the VCU Shootout, held at the Country Club of Virginia's Tuckahoe course.
