BC Faces UVA in Afternoon Clash

Boston College faces-off Virginia Sunday afternoon
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Boston College volleyball team continues ACC play on the road against Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. on Sunday Oct. 1, at 1:00 p.m.
Boston College battled No. 8 Pittsburgh falling in three sets on Friday night. Scores of the set were 12-25, 19-25, and 15-25. The Eagles are 11-6 on the season and 0-3 in conference play.
Jenna Pollock led the Eagles in kills, with seven. Halle Schroder had five kills and Audrey Ross had four on the day. Sophia Lambros tallied seven digs more than double the amount of any other Eagle on the night. Grace Penn guided the offense with 11 assists. Julia Haggerty posted five total blocks, including two solo blocks.
Virginia is 8-5 on the season and 1-2 in ACC play. The Cavaliers are coming off of a victory against Syracuse at home on Friday night. Cherlin Antonio led Virginia with 16 kills, tacking on three blocks. Zharia Harris-Waddy led the night with five aces, and Alyssa Bert led the defense with 11 digs.
Sunday's match will be the 28th meeting all-time between the two teams since 2005. The Eagles are looking for its tenth win against the Cavaliers. The last time the two teams met on Nov. 4, 2022 the Eagles were victorious.
The Eagles have a string of home matches the next two weeks, hosting Wake Forest on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m., and Virginia Tech on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. The following week BC will host Duke on Oct.13 at 7 p.m., and North Carolina on Oct. 15 at 1 p.m.
