Five Eagles Score as No. 11 BC Takes Down UNH

Pia Serowik Scores First Career Goal
Junior Pia Serowik got the offense started for BC, netting a deflection off an assist from Eva Kluskens for her first goal of her college career as the Eagles took a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Claire Jones would double Boston College's lead after sending a laser into the top right shelf off of a penalty corner setup from Martina Giacchino and Margo Carlin. The Eagles would keep up the pressure offensively, scoring just over two minutes later in the form of Kluskens converting on an assist by Klara Mueffelmann to go up 3-0.
The Wildcats would find their first and only goal of the match in the fourth quarter to cut BC's lead to two with 9:35 left in the final period of action. Graduate forward Margo Carlin would answer with a goal of her own shortly after, scoring in her fifth-straight contest just a minute and 36 seconds after UNH's first tally. Forward Kara Heck would provide the proverbial dagger with 6:18 left in the game, giving the Eagles a 5-1 lead they would hold onto until the final buzzer.
Caroline Kelly earned her sixth win of the 2023 campaign as BC's defense held the fifth-ranked team nationwide in goals per game to two shots on goal. The Eagles owned a 17-2 shots on goal and a 10-3 corner advantage over the Wildcats.

The Eagles will stay in Newton, Mass. to host Syracuse University on Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Morgan's Message Game. They will also take on Vermont on Sunday at noon at the Newton Field Hockey Complex in the Alumni Day Game.
