BLACKSBURG, Va. - Boston College men's soccer fell 1-0 to Virginia Tech on Friday evening in Blacksburg at Thompson Field.Â
The Eagles fall to 2-3-3 and 0-2-1 in ACC play, while the Hokies move to 2-2-3 and 2-0-1 in league action.Â
Boston College and Virginia Tech were in a defensive battle for much of the contest until the Hokies' Noe Uwimana scored in the 77th minute to take a 1-0 lead.Â
The Eagles' offense was unable to get a clean look to tie the contest, leading to the VT win.Â
BC posted a 9-7 advantage in shots, with Xavier O'Neil tallying a team-best three shot attempts. He fired off an attempt with four minutes left in the first half, but just missed to the right of the goal. Â O'Neil was one of three players with multiple shots.Â
Brennan Klein made the start between the posts, stopping a pair of shots in 90 minutes.Â
The Eagles return to action next Friday at the Newton Soccer Complex against Wake Forest at 2 p.m.Â
