Eagles Takes Down Friars in Three Sets

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Eagles topped the Friars in the first match of the double-header Friday afternoon, to extend the Eagles on a seven game win streak, and 9-3 on the season.
Set one was all Eagles, going on multiple 3-0 runs. A kill at 4-2 Eagles, by Alayna Crabree gave her her 500th career kill. Crabtree and senior Sophia Lambros led the team in aces both with two service aces in set one. The Eagles were able to close the set 25-18.
BC grabbed a back-and-forth set two 27-25.The Friars were able to tie it up 25-25 a set of kills by junior Jenna Pollock and freshman Halle Schroder closed set two.
The Eagles started set three on a 3-0 run, to be met by a back-and-forth last set. That included five kills by freshman Halle Schroder, BC outhit PC .306 to .276.
Crabtree led all players with a match-high 15 kills. Schroder and senior Katrina Jensen had 11 and six respectively. Providence's Macy Talyor led the Friars with 14.
Senior libero Anna Murphy led the back row with 15 digs, followed by senior Sophia Lambros tacking on 10. Lambros and senior Grace Penn led the offense with 41 assists, Penn added on 23.
The Eagles return to the Connell Recreation Center tonight at 7 p.m. against Harvard.
