
Eagles Fall in Three to Lady Volunteers

SAN DIEGO- The Boston College Eagles were swept by the University of Tennessee on Friday night at the San Diego Tournament. The Eagles' record drops to .500, 2-2. The Lady Volunteers win their fifth straight match and boost their overall record to 5-0.
Tennessee won decisively in set one, 25-14. Set two was all the Lady Volunteers; they ran away with the set 25-16. The Eagles fought hard in the third set; they were within striking distance early in the set trailing by two, but let the Vols run away, losing 25-10.
Freshman Audrey Ross (Danville, Calif.) had a match-high eight kills in addition to her two blocks and dig. Senior libero Anna Murphy (Zionsville, Ind.) had a match-high on the defensive end with nine digs, tacking on one assist. Senior setter Sophia Lambros (Fullerton, Calif.) guided the offense with 14 assists, plus two digs, and two service aces.
Tennessee's scoring was led by Keondreya Granberry's 11 kills, and nine blocks, and Caroline Kerr had a match-high 23 assists.
The Eagles are back in action in the San Diego Tournament tomorrow night at 8 p.m. ET to face San Diego before traveling to Irvine, Calif. to battle UC Irvine on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+Â
