
Eagles Fall to UNH in Four Sets

DURHAM, NH- The Boston College volleyball team is handed its first loss of the season by the University of New Hampshire in a 3-1 decision. The Eagles are now 2-1 on the season, while UNH has improved to 3-1.Â
Trailing by a set after a 25-20 first, BC rallied to win the second 25-18, but UNH ran away with back-to-back victories 25-22 in the third and 27-25 in the fourth.
The offensive attack was an all team effort for BC, four of the Eagles were in the double digits with kills, freshman Halle Schroder (Frisco, Texas) had 12, junior Jenna Pollock (St. Catharines, Ont.), sophomore Grace Milliken (Lucas, Texas), and senior Katrina Jensen (Temecula, Calif.) all had 10 on the night. Schroder played on both sides of the ball coming up with eight digs and two blocks. Junior Julia Haggerty (Lafayette, Calif.) led the net defense with five blocks. Â
On the back row senior libero Anna Murphy (Zionsville, Ind.) dominated the defense with 22 digs, and senior setter Sophia Lambros (Fullerton, Calif.) added nine. Lambros guided the offense with 24 assists and senior setter Grace Penn (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) added 21.Â
The Eagles are back in action on Friday, Sep. 1 at 4 p.m. against Tennessee at the San Diego Tournament.Â
