BC will play the third game in a quadruple header at Barclays Center on Dec. 10
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College will travel to Brooklyn on Dec. 10 to take on traditional rival St. John's as part of the 2023 NABC Brooklyn Showcase.
The game will be part of a quadruple header at Barclays Center, with the Eagles taking on the Red Storm at 4:30 p.m. Network designations will be announced soon.
Boston College is 27-46 all-time against St. John's and the two teams played annually from 1979-2005 as charter members of the Big East Conference. Since joining the ACC in 2005-06, BC and St. John's have played twice, including an 82-70 win on Nov, 18, 2008 at Conte Forum as part of the NIT Season Tipoff. In the last matchup, BC dropped a 97-93 decision on Nov. 30, 2020 in Bubbleville at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The Red Storm are led by Hall of Fame head coach Rick Pitino, who is entering his first season at the Queens university. Boston College is 4-6 all-time against Pitino-coached teams, including Boston University (3-0), Providence (1-3), and Louisville (0-3).
Boston College is 5-5 all-time at Barclays Center and 7-10 all-time in games played in the borough of Brooklyn. In both 2018 and 2022, the Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals of the New York Life ACC Tournament. BC went 0-2 in the 2016 Barclays Center Classic MTE, falling to Kansas State and Richmond. The Eagles lost a single game against VCU at Barclays in 2013, while downing Fordham in 2015.
The game will be the third of four games that day at Barclays. Fellow ACC member Miami will take on Colorado, Fordham will face North Texas, and Temple will take on Albany to round out the day of basketball in Brooklyn.
Tickets for the NABC Brooklyn Showcase will go on-sale via Ticketmaster and Barclays Center Box Office via presale on Tuesday, Aug. 15 and general public sale on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
