CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College men's hockey has announced its team award winners for the 2022-23 season, presented annually by the Pike's Peak Hockey Club.
Cutter Gauthier received the Norman F. Dailey MVP Award, closing his freshman season as a Hockey East Third Team All-Star. He was a unanimous selection to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team after leading the team with 37 points on 16 goals and 21 assists. Gauthier was selected to Team USA for the IIHF World Junior Championship and is currently playing for the U.S. at the IIHF World Championship.
Eamon Powell earned the James E. Tiernan Most Improved Player Award after nearly doubling his career point total as a junior. Powell posted five goals and 17 assists for 22 points, eclipsing his previous career-high of 14 as a freshman. The defenseman skated in all 36 games playing meaningful minutes on the blue line and led the team with a plus-7 rating and 60 blocked shots.
The William J. Flynn Coaches Award went to graduate student Cam Burke, who was named an assistant captain two months into the season. Burke scored a pair of goals in Boston College's 4-2 win over UMass at Frozen Fenway and collected eight assists on the year while playing in every game. Burke ranked seventh in Hockey East with 320 faceoff wins and finished with a 58.3 faceoff percentage.
Andre Gasseau was recognized with the Bernie Burke Outstanding Freshman Award, finishing tied for third on the team with 29 points as a rookie. Gasseau ranked sixth among Hockey East freshmen in points per game as he registered 10 goals and 19 assists in 36 games. He did most of his damage during the second half with 20 total points after New Year's, including six multi-point performances.
The John "Snooks" Kelley Memorial Award, given to the individual who best typifies Boston College Hockey, was awarded to senior captain Marshall Warren. Warren skated in all 36 games, finishing his career with 130 games played, and registered 14 points. He was also heavily involved in community service activities with organizations such as Team Impact and Ice Hockey in Harlem.
