ST. PAUL, Minn. – Sophomore forwards James Hagens and Dean Letourneau have been named nominees for the 2026 Hobey Baker Award, announced by the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Foundation on Wednesday afternoon.
The Hobey Baker Award is presented annually to the top player in NCAA Division I men's ice hockey.
Hagens currently leads the Eagles in points with 21 on 10 goals and 11 assists. The New York native has five multi-point games this season, including two three-point performances. He scored his first collegiate hat trick in the 5-3 win over Notre Dame on Nov. 28 and had a career-high three assists in the team's most recent outing on Jan. 17.
Letourneau boasts a team-high 11 goals, tied for third in Hockey East, and also has nine assists for a total of 20 points. The sophomore ended the 2025 calendar year on a five-game goal scoring streak, totaling six goals over that span, including his first multi-goal game in the 3-1 road victory over UMass Lowell on Dec. 5 when he scored two power play goals.
The initial list will be trimmed down to the Top 10 in March. The winner will be announced during the Frozen Four in April.
