SOUTH BEND, Ind.  - With 12 seconds left in the game, it were the Weeks twins who delivered Boston College lacrosse to a thrilling 12-11 win over No. 8 Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon in Arlotta Stadium.Â
The Eagles picked up their first top-10 road win of the season, improving to 10-3 and 6-1 in the ACC. Notre Dame falls to 8-5 and 4-3 in the league.Â
Trailing 11-7 with 10:43 left in the contest, the Eagles reeled off five straight goals to secure the victory. Courtney Weeks found her sister, Cassidy Weeks, for the game-winning score to complete the comeback.
Notre Dame had time to tie up the contest, but a timely Sydney Scales' caused turnover made sure the Fighting Irish didn't get the shot off.Â
Mckenna Davis stepped up during the run, where she started the 5-0 surge with a goal and later found Jenn Medjid to tie up the contest. Kayla Martello and Courtney W. scored back-to-back times to narrow the gap to one, 11-10.Â
Notre Dame put together a 7-1 stretch with the Eagles leading 6-4 to go up by four goals in the second half.Â
Medjid totaled four goals for her 10th hat trick of the season, leading six different Eagles who scored. Belle Smith delivered a pair of goals and assists for four points. Cassidy W. scored twice with one assist, while Martello scored twice.
Cassidy W. also registered three draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Â
Shea Dolce recorded a personal-high 13 saves for a .542 save percentage, facing 24 shots on goal. Scales paced the team with five ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Andrea Reynolds tied the team lead with two helpers and three draw controls.Â
BC will aim to continue the momentum on Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Boston University in the Battle of Commonwealth Ave.Â
