BC falls in second round in 2023 New York Life ACC Tournament on Wednesday
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Boston College's postseason run ended on Wednesday night against North Carolina, falling 85-61 in the second round of the 2023 New York Life ACC Tournament.Â
Makai Ashton-Langford scored 16 points and Jaeden Zackery added 15 for 10th-seeded Boston College (16-17). Ashton-Langford and Zackery reached double figures in both ACC Tournament games this week.Â
BC got off to a hot start, connecting on two 3-pointers to start the game, but Carolina would also hold a hot hand from the outside. The Tar Heels connected on 7-of-13 from beyond the arc in the first half, building as much as a 19-point lead. UNC would lead, 43-29, at the break. In the second half, the deficit continued to grow for the Eagles, trailing by as many as 27 points.
The Eagles would shoot 45.3% (24-53) for the game, connecting on 7-of-21 from the outside and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe. They finish the season with a 16-17 overall record, including a 9-11 mark in ACC regular season play.
