Eagles Begin Home-and-Home with UConn Friday on Senior Night

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College closes the regular season with a home-and-home series against No. 17 UConn this weekend, beginning Friday on Senior Night at Kelley Rink on NESN and ESPN+ at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at (617) 552-GoBC or BCEagles.com. The series shifts to UConn's new Toscano Family Ice Forum in Storrs on Saturday afternoon on ESPN+ with faceoff at 4 p.m.
SETTING THE SCENE
• Boston College can clinch home ice in the Hockey East First Round with one point over the final weekend and can finish as high as sixth in the league
• The Huskies enter the weekend fourth in the standings with a two-point lead on UMass Lowell for home ice in the quarterfinal
• BC fell 5-1 at the XL Center on Oct. 27 in the first regular season meeting as the Huskies used a four-goal third period to snap a 1-1 tie at the second intermission
SENIOR NIGHT
• Prior to Friday's series opener, BC will honor eight members of the Class of 2023: graduate manager Will Dahlquist, graduate transfers Mitch Benson, Cam Burke and Christian O'Neill, and seniors Mitch Andres, Liam Izyk, Jack Moffatt and Marshall Warren
• The senior class has helped lead the Eagles to a pair of Hockey East Regular Season Championships and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2021 as sophomores
• Boston College's three graduate students have skated in all 32 games this season and have combined for 370 career NCAA games played
SERIES HISTORY
• This weekend will mark the 23rd and 24th all-time meetings in the series
• Boston College leads the all-time series with the Huskies 14-6-2
• UConn has won the last three meetings after a 10-game stretch in which BC went 8-1-1
• The loss snapped a four-game winning streak in Hartford for the Eagles
• BC was undefeated all-time in Chestnut Hill (7-0-2) in the series prior to a pair of UConn victories last season during the second half by 5-4 and 6-4 finals

• Cutter Gauthier has been named the Pro Ambitions Hockey East Rookie of the Month for February after winning the award in November
• Gauthier led all Hockey East rookies with 10 points on three goals and seven assists in eight games during the month
• He had at least one point in seven of his eight games with a pair of multi-point outings, including a three-point night at Maine last Friday
• The forward posted a team-best 33 shots on goal, which ranked sixth in the NCAA among first-year players, and was plus-two for the month
• Gauthier is second in the league in goals per game (0.57) and power play goals (7)
NHL NOTES
• Alex Tuch (Buffalo) became the third New York native to record 100 points with the Sabres on Feb. 24, joining Tim Connolly and former Eagle Brian Gionta
• Tuch also scored his 100th NHL goal on Feb. 21 against Toronto
• Zach Sanford (Nashville) was recalled from Milwaukee (AHL) on Feb. 26
• Thatcher Demko (Vancouver) was activated from injured reserve on Feb. 27, making 34 saves in a win against Dallas
