BC Falls In Game Two Against Wolfpack

RALEIGH, N.C – Boston College lost to NC State 8-4 on Saturday afternoon in the second game of the series. The Eagles go to 15-9 on the season and the Wolfpack improve their record to 9-17.Â
It was a tight start to this one, both teams' offenses came out slow with only one run being scored in the first 3 innings. NC State began taking control of the game in the bottom of the third, rattling off a four run inning, including a three run homer from Katlyn Pavlick.Â
The Wolfpack would never look back after that third inning, they tacked on another four runs in the bottom of the fifth on some costly errors from the Eagles defense.Â
BC did manage to rally in the final inning on a three run home run from Junior Nicole Giery and a nice hit from Kamryn Warman, her second home run of the season but it was too little too late as the Wolfpack would go on to get the win and clinch the overall series.Â
Sophomore Abby Dunning got the start for the Eagles, she pitched four innings, recording seven strikeouts and allowing just four hits in 18 at bats. Her record as a starter this season now goes to 5-1 on the season.Â
BC and NC State will close out the series tomorrow at 12 PM EST.Â
