Mitchell Earns USTFCCCA All-America 2nd Team Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Kate Mitchell has been named to the 2nd Team Indoor All-America honors for the 2023 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays at the 2023 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico, took home First-Team All-America honors, while those who placed ninth through 16th individually and as part of a relay earned Second-Team All-America.Â
Mitchell placed 11th overall in the 800m at the NCAA Championships last Friday - clocking in a 2:05.23 run. She ended her final indoor season with the 14th best time among 800m runners in the NCAA (2:03.00) and 36th in the mile (4:35.43). Mitchell captured ACC gold in the Women's 800m in February at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
