
Vetrano Named ACC Player of the Week

First baseman homered in three straight games to power the BC lineup.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Boston College baseball's Joe Vetrano (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) has been named the ACC Player of the Week for March 13 as voted on by the media and announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. The award marks the first of Vetrano's career and first by an Eagle since 2021.
Vetrano homered in three consecutive games, going yard four times, to start the week. He hit .350 and slugged .850 for the week with four home runs, one double, seven RBI and six runs scored.
The Eagles went 4-1 on a road trip that included an upset at No. 2 Tennessee on Tuesday and a series win at No. 10 Virginia Tech to open ACC play on the weekend. Vetrano went 3-for-5 with two home runs, a double and three runs against the Volunteers. He homered in a 2-for-5 day with three RBI at UNC Asheville on Wednesday and started the series against the Hokies with his sixth home run of the season in game one.
The award is only the 11th Player of the Week honor for an Eagle since BC joined the league in 2006. The last to do so was Sal Frelick in 2021.
Boston College, which entered the top-25 on Monday for the first time in two years at No. 18 by Baseball America, is back in action this weekend for a series at No. 21 Florida State.
