CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -Â Boston College suffered a 67-28 loss to No. 9/11 Duke on Thursday evening inside Conte Forum.Â
BC falls to 14-13 on the season and 4-10 in ACC play, while the Blue Devils improve to 21-3 and 11-2 in the league.Â
Maria Gakdeng scored in double figures for the fifth straight game with 11 points and tied a team best with seven rebounds.Â
The Eagles started the game with a 7-6 lead and 3-of-5 from the field after a basket from Gakdeng. However, Duke finished the quarter by scoring 10 of the next 13 points to go into the second period with an eight-point lead.Â
Boston College was able to climb back to within five points thanks to an Ava McGee layup, but the Eagles struggled from that point on to get anything going on offense. Duke went into the half with the momentum and the lead. The Blue Devils pulled away in the second half to clinch the win, showing why they came in as one of the top defenses in the nation.Â
BC faces its second ranked opponent in as many contests on Sunday when it faces No. 14/16 North Carolina in Chapel Hill at 12 p.m.
