
Eagles Downed at UNC in Sunday Contest

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -Â Â Boston College fell to No. 14/16 North Carolina, 73-55, on Sunday afternoon in Carmichael Arena.Â
BC's record is now 14-14 on the season and 4-11 in the ACC, and UNC is 18-7 and 9-5 in the league.Â
T'Yana Todd led the team in scoring with 14 points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field, while seven other points came from the line. Todd also grabbed five rebounds. Ally VanTimmeren rounded out the leading scorers with 11 points.Â
Andrea Daley totaled a team-high 11 rebounds and was one of three Eagles with nine points.Â
JoJo Lacey and VanTimmeren scored the first five points for the Eagles and the defense forced UNC to miss four of its first five shots, leading to a 5-3 lead early in the game. The Tar Heels responded by going on a 16-3 run to end the period.Â
UNC stayed in control throughout the rest of the half, scoring 14 points off turnovers and limiting BC to under 30 percent shooting.Â
The Tar Heels kept BC at bay the rest of the contest, hitting seven of its 13 field goal attempts from deep to pull away for the win.Â
Boston College tied a season high with eight 3-pointers, shooting 40 percent from deep.Â
BC returns to action on Thursday at 6 p.m. against Pittsburgh on the road.Â
