Eagles Play Host to Maine Friday Night on NESN

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College returns to Hockey East play on Friday night when it welcomes Maine to Kelley Rink for a 7 p.m. faceoff. The game will be televised on NESN and streamed on ESPN+. SETTING THE SCENE
• Boston College and Maine will meet three times in league play over the next couple of weeksÂ
• The Black Bears are 3-1-0 in their last four games, all at home in Hockey East play
• Maine swept Providence in Orono on Jan. 27-28, then fell to Boston University 5-3 last Friday before beating Merrimack 3-2 in overtime on Sunday afternoon
• BC leads Maine by one point in the league standings for the No. 7 seed, although the Black Bears have a game in hand
BEANPOT HEARTBREAK
• Boston College stormed back from 3-1 down in the third period to force overtime, but No. 10 Harvard scored with 1.5 seconds left in the extra session to win 4-3 on Monday night in the first semifinal of the 70th Beanpot at TD Garden
• Marek Hejduk converted a 2-on-1 from the left circle in the dying seconds of overtime as the Crimson advanced to next Monday's title game
• BC out-shot Harvard 48-25, including a dominant 22-2 edge in the third period
• The Eagles made it 3-2 with 4:14 left in regulation on an individual effort from Nikita Nesterenko, and Cutter Gauthier tied it on an extra attacker goal with 1:31 remaining
• Lukas Gustafsson finished the night with a pair of assists, while Nesterenko led the team with nine shots on goal

• The schools are squaring off for the 135th time in series history on Friday with Boston College holding a 72-52-10 overall advantage over Maine

• Powell leads the team in plus-minus rating at +6 on the year and sits 12th among Hockey East defensemen in points per game with a 3-11-14 scoring line
