The Orange maintained their lead from the free throw line, being awarded 24 trips to the charity stripe - including 16 in the second half. Cuse converted 21-of-24. Boston College made 3-of-4 from the foul line for the entire game.
Jesse Edwards had 27 points for the Orange (14-10, 7-6 Atlantic Coast Conference), who snapped a three-game skid. He added seven rebounds and blocked four shots. Syracuse led 35-32 at halftime, shooting 45% from the floor before intermission but hit just 2 of 9 from 3-point range. It was the constant stream of foul shots awarded that kept the Orange in the game.
