
Mitchell Wins 800m Gold at ACC Championships as Two School Records Fall

Mitchell's Winning 800m Time Currently Ranks 12th in the NCAA
LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Boston College women's track and field team tied for 13th at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships this week. Katherine Mitchell secured ACC Gold in the 800m final for the Eagles with a school-record time of 2:03.00 - becoming the first 800m ACC Champion for BC since 2011. Mitchell's time currently places her at 12th in the NCAA this season and also becomes the new facility record at Louisville.
Virginia Tech swept the team championships - scoring 93 points on the women's side. Duke fell short by just two points (91), followed by Clemson placing third with 68 points.
Mitchell's day didn't end with the 800m however - as she helped set a new school record in the 4x400m relay alongside Anna Cleary, Sydney Segalla, and Kyla Krawczyk with a time of 3:42.07. Krawczyk and Segalla also competed in the 400m preliminaries, placing 18th (55.49) and 27th (56.79) respectively.
Roshni Singh earned an 11th-place finish in the 5000m run with a time of 16:28.08. Sarah Flynn rounded out the top performers for the Eagles, finishing 15th in the mile with a personal-best time of 4:45.44. She also bested her top time in the 3000m run for a 29th-place finish (9:39.59).
Isabella Bruno led the way for field events, placing 25th in the long jump (5.35m) and 14th in the triple jump (11.41m).
