Eagles extend win streak to six ahead of conference opener next weekend
WEYMOUTH, Mass. — The Eagles swept Boston University for their sixth straight win on Friday night, taking down the Terriers 7-0 for their second straight shutout.
I thought we competed well tonight," said head coach Nigel Bentley. "Solid team performance for us all around. We were the more confident team at the big moments. It's always nice to beat a cross town opponent. We are really focused on getting better. We will enjoy this win tonight and then start getting ready for our first conference match next week against Syracuse."
Boston College's top doubles team of Marice Aguiar and Laura Lopez took care of business with a 6-1 victory, and Muskan Mahajan and Seren Agar battled to a 6-4 victory to put the Eagles up 1-0.
Marice Aguiar continues to shine at No. 1 singles. With her straight set victory today, Aguiar improves to 8-0 at the top singles position. Freshman Seren Agar also maintained her perfect singles record this spring, improving to 8-0 with a straight set victory of her own.
Down multiple games in the first set, Laura Lopez rallied to a 7-5 win, as she cruised in the second set to a straight-set victory.
The Eagles will now prepare for the beginning of ACC play, opening the conference slate with Syracuse this Saturday, February 18th at 5:00.
