Syracuse Takes Win in Closely Contested ACC Opener

WEYMOUTH, Mass. — The Boston College Eagles (7-2, 4-1) fell 4-3 to the Syracuse Orange on Saturday night in the first game of ACC action.

The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead with their top two doubles teams of Marice Aguiar and Laura Lopez, and Hailey Wilcox and Sophia Edwards, earning victories to put BC ahead.

In singles, Syracuse pulled away with three victories before finally clinching the match in a three-set battle at No. 6 singles.

Entering conference play with a spotless 8-0 record at No. 1 singles, Marice Aguiar improved to 9-0 on Saturday at the top spot.

The Eagles will stay at home and look to bounce back this Friday against Miami.
