February 01, 2023 | Fencing
Went 13-2 and helped his team to a 6-0 team record at the Eric Sollee Invitational
CHESTNUT HILL, MASSÂ -- The Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Wednesday that BC's Inigo Rivera was named ACC Men's Fencer of the Week, with Duke's Christina Ferrari earning Women's Fencer of the Week.Â
Rivera had an outstanding performance this past weekend, he went 13-2 overall in five bouts, including victories over #8 ranked NYU, #9 Duke and #11 Stevens. Among those, Rivera defeated reigning NCAA runner up Terrence Lee from Duke. In the five bouts he competed in, his team weapon went 31-15 and the Men's team as a whole once again went unbeaten (6-0) in the Eric Sollee Invitational after also going undefeated last weekend in the Northeast Fencing Conference.
The Eagles Men's Team was ranked 11th in the latest NCAA coach's poll last week and will look to build off of that as they get ready for some important competition this upcoming weekend at the Northwestern Invitational.Â
