Donald Hand Jr. led BC with 16 points in the win over CCSU
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Four Eagles reached double-digits, led by Donald Hand Jr.'s 16 points as Boston College downed Central Connecticut, 82-68.
Hand was 5-of-9 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from the perimeter and 3-of-4 from the foul line. Â He added three boards and two steals in 21 minutes.
Over the first 20 minutes, Boston College enjoyed one of its most efficient offensive halves of the season. The Eagles connected on better than 62% from the floor. A Quinten Post 3-pointer with 13:14 left in the period made it 18-8 and the Eagles would maintain a double-digit lead the rest of the way. Â Led by a season-high 13 points from Mason Madsen and 11 from Jaeden Zackery, the Eagles held a 49-23 lead at the break. Â The 26-point halftime advantage was the largest of the season and the biggest halftime lead since Nov. 18, 2022 vs. George Mason.
In the second half, the Eagles led by as many as 32, after an Elijah Strong layup made it 68-36 with 10:21 to play. Â A 13-2 CCSU push cut the BC lead to 21 - 70-49 -with under seven minutes to go. Â BC extended it back to 28 - 82-54 - with 3:40, but allowed 14 unanswered to the Blue Devils to close out the game.
Madsen finished with 15 points and a game-high seven rebounds to go along with four assists and three steals. Â Quinten Post and Jaeden Zackery played 22 minutes - more than 12 minutes under their respective season averages. Â Post finished with 13 points, six boards, and two assists. Â Zackery had 11 points, six assists, and four steals.
Strong - in his most extensive playing time of the season - scored nine points in 16 minutes. Â Prince Aligbe finished with seven points in 20 minutes.
BC connected on 50.0% (30-60) from the floor and finished with 18 assists and 11 steals.
The Eagles return to action on Friday, Dec. 8 when it hosts Holy Cross. Â Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will stream live on ACC Network Extra.
