Cross Country Set to Compete at NCAA Regionals

16 Eagles ready to take on top talent throughout the Northeast
BRONX, N.Y. – The Boston College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams are set to compete at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday, Nov. 10 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. Â
ACC Championships
The Eagles are coming off competing at the ACC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on Oct. 27, where they faced many of the top teams and individual runners in the conference and country. Emma Tavella shined for the second straight meet, placing 21st overall in the Women's 6k with a time of 20:24.2. The Senior earned All-ACC honors for placing in the top 21.Â
A group of four Eagles finished in the top 50 overall, with Natlie Millerova placing 41st (20:52.8), Lily Flynn placing 42nd (20:53.5), Molly Hudson placing 44th (20:55.0), and Roshni Singh placing 47th (20:57.5). The Boston College Women's Cross Country team placed sixth overall, compiling183 points. North Carolina State took home the ACC team title with 37 points. Â
On the Men's side, Steven Jackson continued his impressive season by placing 67th overall in the Men's 8k with a time of 24:30.6. Two more Eagles placed in the top 100, with Peter Fox finishing 79th (24:41.1) and John Garvey finishing in 97th (25:15.5). Cruz Brown came in at 106th (25:30.0), and Andrew Healey was the final scorer, placing 130th with a time of 25:31.2. The Eagles placed 13th overall as a team, compiling 394 points. North Carolina took home the conference title, finishing with 49 points. Â
Tavella and Millerova
Senior Emma Tavella and freshman Natalie Millerova have been two big contributors to the success of the Boston College Women's Cross Country team this season. The Duo have led the Eagles to a no. 4 ranking in the USTFCCCA Northeast Regional rankings.Â
Tavella and Millerova have both shined at the last two meets in the women's 6K event. In the second race of the season, the duo both placed in the top 75 at the Arturo Barrios Invitational with Tavella finishing 21st overall out of 385 runners. Tavella also ran her season-best time of 20:15.0 at this meet. The Eagles placed third overall as a team on the Women's side out of 41 teams who competed that day. Millerova captured her career-best time at the 2023 ACC Cross Country Championships. The freshman finished with a time of 20:52.8, which was good for 41st overall. Tavella continued her success at ACC's with another 21st overall finish, helping lead the Eagles to finish sixth overall as a team at the conference meet. The two Eagles are primed to help lead Boston College to more success at the Northeast Regionals this weekend. Â
Friday in the Bronx
The Eagles will have 16 athletes compete at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Friday. On the Women's side, the Eagles will feature: Ellie Buckley, Ella Fadil, Lily Flynn, Sarah Flynn, Molly Hudson, Natalie Millerova, Roshni Singh, and Emma Tavella. On the Men's side, the Eagles will showcase: Sam Ellis, Peter Fox, John Garvey, Andrew Healey, Eero Helenius, Steven Jackson, Nick Loffredo, and Edward Sullivan. The group of 16 Eagles that will be traveling to regionals will feature nine upperclassmen and seven underclassmen. The Eagles are looking to secure spots at the NCAA Championships on November 18th.Â
The meet will feature 42 of the best teams all throughout the Northeast. The regional is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Women's 6K, followed by the Men's 10K starting at 12:00 p.m. Race times are subject to change in the event of inclement weather.Â
