
Eagles Punch Their Ticket to NCAA Championship

Women's Cross Country places second overall at Northeast Regionals
BRONX, N.Y. — Boston College Women's Cross Country placed second overall at the 2023 NCAA Northeast Regionals in the Bronx, New York on Friday afternoon, qualifying for the NCAA championship next weekend.Â
With a top-two finish at regionals, the Women's Cross Country automatically qualifies for NCAA championships on Nov. 18 in Charlottesville, Va. This is the first time Boston College has qualified since 2019. It is also the school's 20th time qualifying in program history, which is second most all-time of all ACC schools.Â
Emma Tavella finished eighth overall out of 265 runners to lead the Eagles on the day, finishing with a time of 20:02.4. This time breaks her previous 6K season-best of 20:15.0 at the Arturo Barrios Invitational earlier this season.
A trio of Eagles finished within 14 seconds of each other. Roshni Singh crossed the finish line in 17th place, with a time of 20:19.0. Lily Flynn finished six seconds later, placing 21st (20:25.7), while Molly Hudson was 30th overall (20:33.9). Singh and Flynn's both accomplished their fastest times of the season and highest placements.Â
Natalie Millerova was the final scorer for the Eagles, placing 47th overall with a time of 20:38.5. Sarah Flynn came in at 49th with a time of 20:53.8, while Ella Fadil placed 84th (21:23.4) and rounded out the group of Eagles who competed in the six-kilometer course. All three Eagles improved on their times from last weekend at ACC Championships.Â
As a team, Boston College placed second overall, compiling 109 points. Syracuse took home the regional championship with 98 points, while Providence (137), Harvard (140), and Columbia (167) rounded out the top-five.Â
