BC Announces Class of '24 Recruits

Eagles bring in six student athletes on National Signing Day
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College softball has announced that six student-athletes have signed their National Letter of Intent to join the Eagles in the fall of 2024, according to head coach Amy Kvilhaug.
This class features three signees from the state of Georgia along with one each from Florida, Massachusetts and Texas.
Joining the Eagles are C/OF Carly Bunnel of Windemere, Fla., OF Tavye Borders of Braselton, Ga., C/1B Abby Ptak of Manvel, Texas., 1B/UTL Adriana Martinez of Buford, Ga, RHP Bailey Kendziorski of Guyton, Ga., and RHP Shannon Macleod of Cohasset, Mass.Â
"I am psyched to announce our 2024 class and am thrilled that their wonderful families are now part of our BCSB family," said Kvilhaug. "A very important piece of leveling up our culture on the Heights has been not only to bring in talented student-athletes, but also athletes who embody a process-oriented focus with a strong emphasis on connection and relationships to one another and the community. The '24's want to excel in every area of their lives - in the classroom, on the field, and in service to others. They are a great fit for Boston College and will add to the growing dynamic of our program."
Carly Bunnell, C/OF, Windermere, Fla.
"Carly is coming off a spectacular summer where she hit for power and proved her versatility on the field as both a catcher and outfielder."Â
Tavye Borders, OF, Braselton, Ga.
"Tavye can flat out fly. Whether on the bases or in the outfield, she is going to make an impact with her speed. Coming off an extremely successful high school season in Buford where the team won the state championship."
Abby Ptak, C/1B, Manvel, Texas

"Abby has size, power, and versatility. She plays for a top tier travel organization with high level athletes that sets its sights on competing for national championships - the exact mentality we want at BC."
Adriana Martinez, 1B/UTL, Buford, Ga.

"AD will add depth to our lineup as a power bat and first baseman. Coming off an extremely successful high school season in Buford where the team won the state championship."
Bailey Kendziorski, RHP, Guyton, Ga.Â

"Bailey will add depth in the circle for us. Known for her pinpoint command and ability to move the ball, I'm excited to have her competing for us. She's a smart player coming from a top tier travel ball organization in Georgia."Â
Shannon Macleod, RHP, Cohasset, Mass.
"Shannon has shown tremendous growth and improvement in the circle over the last few years. Now throwing in the mid-60's, we expect her to continue to develop and add to the success of our program."Â

- .329 batting average and 31 RBIs in 2022 with Windermere High
- Two-time, district Champion in 2021 and 2022
- Led Windermere High to a 24-4 record
- Finished the 2023 summer with the Mustangs with .375 batting average, 10 homeruns, and 38 RBIs

- Plays travel ball for the East Cobb Bullets Schnute
- Had 34 runs, and 27 stolen bases in 2023
- Batted .440 with Buford High in 2023Â
- Led Buford High to a two-time softball state championship victory in 2022 and 2023
- 2022 and 2023 Softball second team all-region
- Runs track in high school, 4x4 state champion and 2020 All-Metro track team

- Earned Offensive MVP in 2023
- Two-time, first team all-district 2022 and 2023
- 2023 all-state honorable mention and academic all-district

- 32-0 record with Buford High in 2023
- 2022 and 2023 1st Team All Region, 1st Team All-County, and 1st Team all State
