ACC/SEC Challenge: BC heads to Vanderbilt on Wednesday

Tipoff between the Eagles and Commodores is set for 9:15 pm ET and the game will air live on SEC Network
BOSTON COLLEGE VS. VANDERBILT - ALL-TIME SERIES
- Today's game marks the ninth meeting between the two schools. The series is tied at 4-4 between the Eagles and Commodores.
- The Eagles dropped the first three matchups, including the first meeting, 82-75, on Dec. 6, 1971 at the Roberts Center.Â
- BC captured the last meeting - 97-74 - at Conte Forum on Dec. 30, 2000. Troy Bell led four Eagles in double digits with 29 points.
- BC is 2-1 at home versus the Commodores and 2-3 at Vanderbilt.
BOSTON COLLEGE VERSUS THE SEC
- Boston College holds a 12-11 record vs. teams currently in the SEC.
- BC's last SEC matchup came on Dec. 4, 2020 vs. Florida. The Eagles dropped a 90-70 decision to the Gators in the Roman Legends Classic in Bubbleville at Mohegan Sun Arena.
- The last win over an SEC foe came on Dec. 12, 2016 vs. Auburn. The game was part of the Under Armour Reunion held at MSG. Nik Popovic's tip-in at the buzzer propelled BC to a 72-71 win.
BOSTON COLLEGE IN CONFERENCE CHALLENGE PLAY
- Today marks the Eagles' first-ever game in the ACC/SEC Challenge.
- From 2006-22, BC was 7-7 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
- The Eagles were 3-3 in ACC/Big Ten Challenge road games.
POST, PARTY OF ONE
- Quinten Post is the only player in America averaging 20.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game.
- Since 1996-97, only three other players have posted at least that stat line for an entire season: Trayce Jackson-Davis from Indiana and Jake Stephens from Chattanooga in 2022-23 and Tim Duncan from Wake Forest in 1996-97.
- He is also posting a 50/40/90 line of shooting percentages, connecting on 52.2% from the floor, 47.8% from the 3-point line, and 90.9% from the free throw line. He is the only player in the country posting those percentages (min. 15.0 ppg).
- Post is the only player in the ACC to rank in the top five in scoring (2nd), rebounding (3rd), and blocks (5th).
- Post and Purdue's Zach Edey are the only two power-conference players to rank in the top five in those three categories.
- The 7-footer also leads the ACC in double-doubles - three - and PAR (points-assists-rebounds), at 32.7 per game. Â Â

CAN'T KNOCK THE HUSTLE
- Boston College is 2-0 this year, 7-1 in 2022-23 and 10-2 since Feb. 21, 2022 when Jaeden Zackery scores at least 15 points.
- Zackery tallied a career-high 21 points in nearly 39 minutes of play at The Citadel on Nov. 10.
- Trailing by six with 16:36 to play, he scored 10 of his 21 points, while also tallying two assists and two steals down the stretch.
- Against Harvard, Zackery added 18 points (6-15 FG), making all five of his free throw attempts.
- When Zackery goes to the free throw line at least five times, BC is 2-1 this year, was 7-2 in 2022-23, and is 11-4 all-time.
- Zackery has committed one or fewer turnovers in four games in 2023-24 and has 10 total turns in 204 minutes of play so far.
- Boston College has won six of its last eight games when Zackery commits one or fewer turnovers in a game.
QP, THE LANDLORD, AND THE BIG FUNDAMENTAL - "VIDEO GAME NUMBERS"
- Against Harvard, Quinten Post registered 20 points, 19 rebounds, five blocked shots, a steal and two assists in the win.
- The double-double was Post's third in four games and his 19 rebounds and five blocks were new career-highs.
- Since 1996-97, only two other players in the ACC have posted similar stat lines: Shelden Williams (Duke); Tim Duncan (Wake)
- Williams had 21 points, 19 rebounds, five blocks, three assists, and two steals on Dec. 4, 2005 against Virginia Tech.
- Duncan posted 22 points, 22 boards, five blocks, and two assists in a win over Saint Mary's on March 14, 1997.
- Over the last 25 years, two Boston College players have had games with at least 20 points and 19 rebounds.
- Ryan Anderson had 23 points and 19 boards (three blocks) against UNH on Dec. 16, 2012 and Ryan Sidney had 22 points and 19 rebounds (9 assists) against St. Bonaventure on Dec. 4, 2002.
McBLOCKTON
- BC is 15-6 when Devin McGlockton blocks at least one shot, 9-1 when he blocks at least two, and 12-6 when he plays 20+ min.
- The sophomore forward has registered at least one block in all six games in 2023-24 and two blocks in four of six games.
- The versatile 6-7 post presence is averaging 1.7 blocked shots per game in 28 minutes of playing time.
- Boston College is 7-4 all-time when McGlockton reaches double-digits in the scoring column.
- He has reached double figures twice this season - at The Citadel and versus Loyola Chicago.
PERFECT FROM THE LINE; TOPS IN THE LAND
- The Eagles rank first nationally in free throw percentage, having connected on an 85.6% (77-90) clip this season.
- Boston College put forth the second-best FT proficiency mark in program history (min. 20 FTA) vs. Colorado State.
- BC made 20-of-20 from the charity stripe vs. the Rams. The next game, BC made 10-of-11 free throws vs. Loyola Chicago.
- The Eagles' all-time best single-game mark (22-of-22) - came at Providence on Jan. 10, 1995.
HARRIS HEADED FOR THE BRIGHT LIGHTS OF THE HEIGHTS
- Claudell Harris Jr. has scored in double figures in four of six games, including a season-high 19 vs. Harvard.
- Harris knocked down 7-of-12 shots - including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc - on 34 minutes of play vs. the Crimson.
- It was his 11th career game with at least four 3-pointers; Harris has made 7-of-his-last-17 from the perimeter (41.2%).
- Harris arrived at BC as a transfer from Charleston Southern and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
- He shined for CSU for two seasons, earning All-Big South second team honors as a sophomore a season ago.
- The 6-3 guard averaged 17.5 points per game last year - the second-best scoring mark in the Big South.
- Harris scored in double figures in 28 of 30 games for the Buccaneers in 2022-23 - including two consecutive 30-point games. Â
- He scored at least 20 points on 14 occasions and also connected on three or more 3-pointers in 14 of CSU's 30 contests. Harris spent two seasons at Charleston Southern and was named to the 2021-22 Big South All-Freshman Team, averaging 10.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 31 games played (14 starts) in his first collegiate season.
PRINCE-IPAL
- BC is 3-0 this year and 11-2 all-time when Prince Aligbe grabs at least six rebounds, including a 7-2 record in ACC contests.
- He is averaging 5.0 boards per game - second-best on the Eagles; 12 of his 30 rebounds have come on the offensive glass.
- His best scoring and rebounding performance of the season came on Nov. 15, when he tallied his first double-double.
- The Minneapolis product scored 15 points (6-8 FG) and grabbed 10 rebounds, including four on the offensive glass.
- When Aligbe scores in double figures, Boston College is 6-3, including a 5-2 mark in 2022-23.
- The 6-7 swingman started 24 of the 27 games he played in 2022-23, missing seven games in November (high ankle sprain).
- He consistently made big contributions in his first collegiate season, especially in the second half of several big wins.
- In his first collegiate game, Aligbe made an immediate impact - connecting on the gamewinner in the opener vs. Cornell.
BOSTON'S NEW BIG THREE
- Quinten Post (20.8 ppg), Claudell Harris Jr. (12.0), and Jaeden Zackery (11.7) account for nearly 60% of BC's scoring.
- Last time out versus Loyola Chicago, the trio accounted for 38 of the Eagles' 68 points.
- The trio account for nearly 41% of BC's rebounds, 64% of assists, 50% of blocks, 54% of steals, and 61% of 3-pointers made.

- Chas Kelley III is poised to take on an increased role as a playmaker and scorer for the Eagles in 2022-23.
- Over the two games in Kansas City, Kelley posted his best back-to-back performances of the season.
- The sophomore guard averaged 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while making 50% (6-12) of his shot attempts.
- Kelley registered eight points (2-4 3FG), three boards, three assists, and a steal against Loyola Chicago.
- He had seven points and two boards against Colorado State in the opening game of the MTE.
- Over the final 12 games of the 2022-23 season, Kelley posted a 1.54:1 assist/turnover ratio and made nearly 38% 3FG.
- Included in those 12 games was Kelley's best game of his career - a 17-point outburst at Virginia Tech on Feb. 8.
- Filling in for the injured Jaeden Zackery, Kelley made 5-of-8 shots (4-7 3FG) and dished out four assists in 31 minutes of play.
- Entering the VT game, he had scored 12 total points with only two made 3-pointers in 10 previous ACC contests.
- For his efforts in that win, the Houston product was named ACC Rookie of the Week on Feb. 13.
QUINTEN POST EARNS USBWA NATIONAL & ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
- Quinten Post was named one of five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week by the USBWA on Nov. 21.
- A day earlier, he was named the ACC Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Nov. 20.
- He averaged 18.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 blocks - including two double-doubles - in a 2-0 week.
- Post had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-best five assists in a win over Richmond on Nov. 15. Â
- He followed that up with another historic performance in the win over Harvard on Nov. 18.Â
- The 7-footer scored 20 points and set new career-highs with 19 rebounds and five blocked shots. Â
- BC is 4-0 this season - the best start since 2007-08 - and Post has logged three double-doubles in four starts. Â
- Post is the only player in the country averaging 19.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.0 blocked shots per game. Â
- He is connecting on better than 55% from the floor, 50% from 3-point land, and 83% from the charity stripe. Â
- Last year, he registered the first 50/40/80 shooting percentage line in a decade.Â
- The Amsterdam product connected on 53.9 FG%, 42.6 3FG%, and 86.0 FT% n 2022-23.Â
- The last player to post those percentages for an entire season (min. 15.0 ppg) was Creighton's Doug McDermott in 2012-13. Â Â
- It marks the first time since Feb. 12, 2018 that a BC player was honored as ACC Player of the Week (Jerome Robinson).
