Quinten Post Named ACC Player of the Week

The talented 7-footer averaged 18.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 blocked shots - including two double-doubles - in a 2-0 week for the Eagles
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Quinten Post was named the ACC Player of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office. Post averaged 18.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 blocked shots - including two double-doubles - in a 2-0 week for the Eagles.
The graduate student had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-best five assists in a win over Richmond on Nov. 15. Â He followed that up with another historic performance in the win over Harvard this past Saturday, registering 20 points and set new career-highs with 19 rebounds and five blocked shots. Â He also added two assists and a steal.
Since 1996-97, only two other players in the ACC have posted similar stat lines: Shelden Williams (Duke) Williams had 21 points, 19 rebounds, five blocks, three assists, and two steals on Dec. 4, 2005 against Virginia Tech and ; Tim Duncan (Wake Forest) posted 22 points, 22 boards, five blocks, and two assists in a win over Saint Mary's on March 14, 1997.
BC is 4-0 this season - the best start since 2007-08 - and Post has logged three double-doubles in four starts. Â Post is averaging 19.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.0 blocked shots per game. Â He is the only player in the country posting that stat line.Â
Percentage-wise, Post is connecting on better than 55% from the floor, 50% from 3-point land, and 83% from the charity stripe. Â Last year, he registered the first 50/40/80 shooting percentage line in a decade. Post connected on 53.9% from the floor, 42.6% from the perimeter, and 86.0% from the free throw line in 2022-23. The last player to post those percentages for an entire season (min. 15.0 ppg) was Creighton's Doug McDermott in 2012-13. Â Â
Post's award from the ACC marks the first time since Feb. 12, 2018 that a Boston College men's basketball player was honored as the league's Player of the Week (Jerome Robinson).
