Fowler Named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month

AMESBURY, Mass. – Freshman netminder Jacob Fowler has been named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Month, as announced by the league on Wednesday.
Fowler started all six games for the Eagles in October between the pipes and went 5-1-0, ranking second in Hockey East and sixth nationally with an .833 winning percentage.
The Melbourne, Florida native is coming off a career-high 43 save performance last Friday against No. 7 Michigan State. His 2.15 goals against average ranks eighth among NCAA goalies with at least five games played.
Fowler and the Eagles are ranked No. 1 nationally in both polls heading into their Hockey East opener on Friday night against UMass Lowell at Kelley Rink. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. on NESN as BC closes a six-game homestand.
