Eagles and Cavaliers Play to 1-1 Tie

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College men's soccer played to a 1-1 tie against Virginia on Friday evening at the Newton Soccer Complex.
The Eagles move to 3-4-4 overall and 0-3-2 in league action, while the Cavaliers are now 6-3-3 and 2-2-1 in the conference.
Both teams battled in the first half to a 0-0 score going into the break after neither team found the back of the net.
It wasn't until the 64th minute when CJ Williams broke the tie off a pass from Xavier O'Neil, giving BC a 1-0 lead and Williams' first-career score. O'Neil collected his team-leading third assist in the process.
BC held the lead until Gyamfi Annor tied up the contest 11 minutes later. Brennan Klein came away with two timely stops in the 82nd and 86th minute of the match, leading to the draw.
Ted Cargill had one shot on goal, which came in the first half. Five different Eagles recorded a shot.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday against Yale at 7 p.m. at the Newton Soccer Complex.
