Softball standout will represent BC and the ACC at the convention from Oct. 8-10
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-Â As one of Boston College's brightest, softball infielder Zoe Hines has been selected to attend the 2023 Women Leaders in College Sports Convention from Oct. 8-10 in New Orleans to represent Boston College and the ACC as one of 18 female athletes.Â
In addition to the convention, the ACC will hold a workshop exclusively for the ACC student-athletes attending. The workshop will include goal planning, networking practice, and more. Following the convention, the group will connect to reflect on their experience and plan what comes next as they move forward in their academic, athletic, and professional careers.
"We are thrilled to be able to provide this incredible experience for our student-athletes during the annual Women Leaders in Sports National Convention," said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. "The opportunity to connect our student-athletes with the leadership not only at our institutions but across the country is invaluable. Patti Phillips, CEO of Women Leaders, and her amazing dedication and service is greatly appreciated, and this event is another example of our ongoing efforts to support our nearly 10,000 student-athletes in a world-class manner."
Receiving awards at the 2023 convention will be two members of the ACC family in Cricket Lane of North Carolina and Dee Todd of the ACC. Lane, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development at North Carolina, will receive the Nell Jackson Nike Executive of the Year Award. At the same time, Todd, the first female and minority to serve as the assistant commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference, will be honored with the Nike Lifetime Achievement Award.
Founded in 1979, Women Leaders in Sports is the only nationally recognized professional membership organization whose mission is to develop, connect, advance, and champion women leaders working in sports. Women Leaders provides career and leadership training, access to a powerful network, and the resources to advance women at every stage of their careers.
