
Eagles Fall at No. 11 Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Boston College women's soccer suffered a 3-1 setback to No. 11 Notre Dame on Thursday evening inside Alumni Stadium.
BC falls to 3-8-2 and 0-5-0 in ACC play, while ND improves to 8-1-3 and 4-0-1 in league action.
The Eagles held the lead for much of the first 45, as Ella Richards found the back of the net off a rebound, giving BC a 1-0 edge in the first four minutes of the contest. Emily Sapienza recorded her first assist of the season.
Notre Dame tied up the contest in the 34th minute, which led to the 1-1 tie going into the break.
The score remained tied until the 71st minute when the hosts scored to take a 2-1 lead. Boston College had its opportunities to tie up the contest, including a pair of shots on goal by Sydney Segalla, but the goalkeeper for ND stopped both attempts.
ND tacked on a goal in the 89th minute, leading to the 3-1 win.
Laura Gouvin, Elly Slensky and Segalla led the offense with two shots on goal.
BC returns to action on Sunday against No. 2 Florida State at 2 p.m. in Tallahassee.
