
Women's Soccer Finishes with 1-1 Tie at Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Boston College women's soccer and Virginia drew to a 1-1 tie on Sunday afternoon at Klockner Stadium in Charlottesville.
BC is 3-9-5 on the season and 0-6-3 in the ACC, while the Cavaliers are 7-3-6 and 2-3-4 in the league.
It was a scoreless first half in which Wiebke Willebrandt totaled three saves to keep the UVA offense scoreless. Laura Gouvin and Riley Kerber both of the Eagles' shots on goal in the opening 45, but the UVA goalkeeper stopped both attempts.
In the 49th minute, Gouvin found a running Aislin Streicek up the field before Streicek made a move past the UVA keeper to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
The hosts tied up the contest 11 minutes later thanks to a goal by Meredith McDermott. Neither team attempted a shot on goal in the final 30 minutes of the match, leading to the draw.
Willebrandt totaled four saves in the contest, while Streicek led the team with three shot attempts.
Boston College rounds out the regular season on Thursday at 7 p.m. against North Carolina.
