Margo Carlin Adds Two Goals and One Assist
NEWTON, Mass. – No. 12 Boston College (9-5, 1-3 ACC) continued its winning ways on Sunday, cruising to a victory over UConn (5-10, 2-3 BIG EAST) in a 4-1 affair.
Graduate forward Margo Carlin got the Eagles on the board first, netting a shot from the top of the circle for her 10th goal of the season in the second quarter. The captain would double her scoring total just 2:13 into the second half, converting on an assist from Eva Kluskens to take a 2-0 lead over the Huskies.
Freshman Elisa Brauel-Jahnke found a groove of her own in the second half, scoring her first career goal on a setup from Carlin to give BC a three-goal cushion. UConn would answer with their only goal of the contest late in the third. Brauel-Jahnke ended her career day with the last laugh however, scoring her second of the game with 13:24 left in the fourth quarter off an assist from Kara Heck. The Eagles would take its 4-1 lead to the final buzzer, earning a strong win over the Huskies.
Graduate student Caroline Kelly earned her ninth win at net for Boston College, recording nine saves across 60 minutes.
UP NEXT
The Eagles hit the road on Tuesday to take on Northeastern at 2:00 p.m. Following Tuesday's contest, BC will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to battle Wake Forest on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
