Eagles Excel in Slalom at UNH Carnival

BURKE, Vt. – Boston College placed three skiers in the top-25 of the men's slalom competition over the weekend at the UNH Carnival, which was relocated from Cannon Mountain to Burke Mountain. The men earned 68 EISA points to finish fifth overall in the slalom.

Freshman Bode Flanigan led all Eagles in his NCAA debut with 18th place in Saturday's slalom event, followed by Matthew Smallhouse in 19th and Ben Charleston in 25th. Freshman Alex McNabb earned 36th place in his first career carnival.

Jasmine Whittaker led the women's team on a challenging course as the rookie placed 23rd in the slalom. Classmate Emily Charleston took 35th in slalom in her Boston College debut.

In Friday's giant slalom at Burke, Flanigan (30th) and Smallhouse (32nd) led the men's team while McNabb placed 42nd. Morgan Ellis (41st) and Lauren Hunter (46th) were the top women's finishers in the GS.

The Eagles are back in action this weekend at the St. Michael's Carnival at Smuggler's Notch in Vermont, which was rescheduled from Jan. 20-21.
