Eagles Settle for 1-1 Draw Against Siena

NEWTON, Mass. – Stefan Sigurdarson scored his fifth goal in four matches, but Boston College settled for a 1-1 draw with Siena in rainy conditions on Tuesday night at the Newton Soccer Complex.
Both schools pushed their records to 2-1-1 through four non-conference matches.
Sigurdarson nodded the Eagles into the lead in the 36th minute with his fifth goal of the season. Augustine Boadi bent a ball into the box from the left wing, and Sigurdarson flicked a header inside the far post to beat Greg Monroe.
With the goal, Sigurdarson moved into a tie for ninth place on the program's all-time goals list (21) with Jay Hutchins and David Sullivan. Boadi posted his first career point with the assist.
On its first shot on goal of the evening, Siena equalized in the 66th minute on a left-footed volley from Antonio Linge that found the top right corner.
The Eagles finished the night with a 13-3 edge in shots over the Saints, including a 5-1 advantage in shots on goal.
BC opens ACC play on Saturday night at 7 p.m. against reigning national champion and top-ranked Clemson in Newton.
