Stalman, Argentina Begin Quest to World Baseball Classic

Fifth-year Boston College infielder Lucas Stalman represents Argentina Baseball at the WBC Panama Qualifier.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College baseball infielder Lucas Stalman and the Argentina National Baseball Team begin competition in the World Baseball Classic Panama Qualifer on Friday, Sept. 30. Argentina opens the six-team, double-elimination tournament with a round one game against Pakistan at 8 p.m.
Stalman, a graduate student from Bedford Hills, N.Y., is the lone American born player on the Argentine roster. He is the son of Cecilia and Pablo Stalman. His father, born in Argentina, was a four-year letterwinner on the men's soccer team at BC and a graduate of 1985.
In four years with the Eagles, Stalman has played in 87 career games with 49 starts. He has played second, third, left field designated hitter and in 2022 added catcher to his resume. Stalman has collected 34 hits, scored 35 runs, hit five doubles, three home runs and two triples.
