BC falls to Middle Tennessee in First Match of Red Storm Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y – Boston College lost to Middle Tennessee on Friday morning 3-1, the Eagles moved to 10-1 on the season after the best start in program history at 10-0 while the Blue Raiders now move to 9-2 to begin the season.
In what began as a a very close set in set one at an 18-18 tie, BC managed to go on a 7-1 run to go up 1-0 in the match.
In a back and forth, down to the wire set in set two, the Eagles fought valiantly, even after going down 24-18. they managed to go on a 3-0 run and looked on the verge of a potential comeback however they came up just short losing 25-21.
Middle Tennessee ran away with sets three and four to win the match. Outside hitter Adri Rhoda for the Blue Raiders recorded a game-high 19 kills on a .378 hitting percentage.
For BC, Junior outside hitter Katrina Jensen (Temecula, Calif) led the team with 15 kills on a .344 hitting percentage to go along with five digs. Junior outside hitter Alayna Crabtree (Normal, Ill) posted a double double with 12 kills and 10 digs. And Junior setters Sophia Lambros (Fullerton, Calif) and Grace Penn (Manhattan Beach, Calif) each dished out 18 assists.
Boston College will be back in action tonight at 7 p.m to take on St. John's in their second match of the Red Storm Invitational.
