Three-Game Road Slate Begins Thursday at UMass

The Eagles will travel to UMass to face the Minutewomen on Thursday afternoon.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team will kick off a three-game road slate with a trip to UMass on Thursday. The game versus the Minutewomen is set for a 4 p.m. start and it will air live on ESPN+.

A WIN OVER UMASS WOULD . . .
• Give Boston College a 4-1-0 record on the year.
• Move the Eagles to 4-13-1 all-time against UMass and push BC's unbeaten streak in the series to four games.

 ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
• The Eagles enter Thursday with a 3-1-0 record after topping Holy Cross, 3-0, at home on Sunday afternoon.
• Overall, six different Eagles have scored in Emily Sapienza (3), Sam Smith (2), Ella Richards, Andi Barth, Claire Mensi and Sydney Segalla while 11 total Eagles have at least one point.
• Smith has a team-leading 15 shots and seven shots on goal ... Smith has led BC in shots in each of the first three games of the season ... the captain has registered a shot attempt in 43 of 54 career games.

• Three goalkeepers have seen time for UMass, with Megan Olszewski starting all four games ... Olszewski is 1-1-1 with a 1.67 goals against average, .783 save percentage, 18 saves and one shutout.
• Jason Dowiak is in his fifth season as head coach of the Minutewomen.

• Boston College and UMass have met 17 times, with the Eagles holding a record of 3-13-1 in the all-time series.
• The teams met in their respective season-openers on Aug. 22, 2019 (marking the first time the teams had met in 17 years) and then again last year in Newton, with BC picking up a 3-1 win.
• A 2-1 BC win on Aug. 22, 2019 to open up the season marked the first game and first career victory for head coach Jason Lowe ... Samantha Agresti scored in the fifth minute and then Sam Smith notched the game-winner in the 89th.
