Wolverines Hold Off Eagles

The visiting Michigan Wolverines held off Boston College for a 1-0 win.
NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team battled the Michigan Wolverines for 90 minutes on Thursday night, ultimately falling 1-0 at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
After a scoreless first half, the Wolverines broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute and then held off the Eagles the rest of the way.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 52' | Danielle Wolfe brought the ball out from the corner and then sent a pass back across towards the top of the box. Lily Farkas was able to strike it to the far post.
- Michigan held the narrow 11-10 margin in shots.
- Boston College had a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
- Wiebke Willebrandt made four saves …Willebrandt moves to 2-1-0 on the year.
- Boston College is now 0-1-0 in the all-time series with Michigan … the Eagles are 18-13-4 overall against current Big Ten teams.
- Sam Smith and Sydney Segalla paced the eagles with two shots each.
- The Eagles will host Holy Cross at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28 at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
