CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Boston College volleyball opens the 2022 campaign this weekend in Vestal, N.Y. at the Bearcat Classic, held on the campus of Binghamton University.
The Eagles open up tournament play on Friday afternoon against Siena, followed by two matches on Saturday against host Binghamton and Maryland Eastern Shore.
All three weekend matches will be streamed from BU's Old Gym.

- Boston College is coming off a 17-17 campaign in 2021, which featured a trip to the postseason and the program's first-ever postseason victory.
- BC downed Delaware State in the 2021 National Invitational Volleyball Championship opening round before falling to in five sets to Connecticut,
- Several key returnees highlight the 2022 roster for the Eagles, including setters Grace Penn and Sophia Lambros. Penn led BC, averaging nearly 5.1 assists per set, while Lambros checked in with nearly 4.5 assists per set.
- Junior Katrina Jensen is the team's top returning hitter, totaling 240 kills (2.3 K/S). Izzy Clavenna also posted better than 200 kills a season ago (216/2.1 K/S).
- BC adds five newcomers - including a highly decorated graduate transfer. Kate Brennan arrives at the Heights from UNLV. The three-time All-Mountain West selection accumulated 745 kills, 360 blocks, and a .341 hitting percentage with the Rebels.
- Boston College is 7-1 all-time against Siena, The two teams last met on Sept. 8, 2018 as part of the Dartmouth Invitational. The Eagles earned a 3-0 victory (25-20, 25-18, 25-16) over the Saints.
- The Eagles are 2-1 all-time against Binghamton, last squaring off against the Bearcats on Sept. 14, 2013 in New York City. BC took a 3-0 win over BU (25-15, 25-23, 25-18) as part of the Columbia Classic.
- This marks the first-ever matchup against Maryland Eastern Shore.
- The Eagles have compiled a 16-16 record on opening day. BC has won seven of its last 10 season openers, including a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-22, 25-16) versus Sacred Heart on August 27, 2021 in last season's BC Classic.
