
Series Decided in High-Scoring Affair

BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team lost a slugfest with Wake Forest, 20-8, at the Harrington Athletics Village on Saturday afternoon. The two teams combined to score runs in each half inning, with exception of the third, through to the seventh inning stretch and did not have a 1-2-3 inning for the duration of the contest.

The Demon Deacons (21-6, 6-5 ACC) jumped on the Eagles (11-16, 1-10) with six runs in the top of the first. Both teams were into the bullpen by the third inning with Wake first reliever Gabe Golob (2-0) grabbing the win.

Brock Wilken hit his third home run of the weekend for the Demon Deacons in a 3-for-5 game with three RBI and three runs scored. Shortstop Michael Turconi drove in six runs and finished 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles.

For BC, graduate left fielder Rafe Chaumette (Sugar Land, Texas) hit a leadoff-home run in the bottom of the first and total three RBI in a 2-for-6 effort.
