Slike hits her second homer of the year in loss
Freshman Hannah Slike hit her second home run of the season in her first at bat to give BC an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Ellie Mataya and Kennedy Labshere also recorded hits for the Eagles.
In the circle, Susannah Anderson started for BC, allowing four earned runs in her 3.1 innings of work. She gave up six hits, walking three, and striking out three. Abby Dunning took over for Anderson in the fourth, pitching the final inning before the eight-run mercy rule came into effect. She allowed one hit, three runs, four walks, and struck out one. Â
The Eagles (14-15, 2-8) and Blue Devils (26-5, 9-2) are back in action at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Durham. The game will be streamed on ACCNX.
