Schnackenberg Wins ACC Pitcher of the Week

First ACC weekly award of the season for BC softball
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College senior Peyton Schnackenberg earned ACC Pitcher of the Week.
Schnackenberg pitched an 8-inning, complete game to lead Boston College to a 2-0 victory against second-ranked Florida State. She allowed just one hit, which was an infield single, and retired 13 consecutive batters following a leadoff walk. Schnackenberg struck out five batters to lead the Eagles to their first win in Tallahassee since 2008.

The senior pitcher is now 6-1 on the year with a 2.55 earned run average (ERA). Hailing from Belle Mead, New Jersey, Schnackenberg is the first pitcher to shut out Florida State this season.

Three ACC teams are ranked among the top seven of the most recent D1Softball Poll - the most of any conference. Florida State leads the league at No. 2, followed by No. 6 Virginia Tech and No. 7 Duke. Clemson checks in at No. 18 to round out the poll for the conference.
