Eagles Travel to Top Seed Northeastern for Hockey East Quarterfinal

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 8 seed Boston College takes a four-game winning streak to Matthews Arena on Saturday night to face Hockey East Regular Season Champion and top-seed Northeastern in the league quarterfinal at 7:30 p.m. on NESNplus. SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday will mark the 247th all-time meeting in series history with BC leading 173-57-16
• Boston College has won six of the last eight meetings between the schools
• Prior to a 3-1 loss to Northeastern in the Beanpot on Feb. 7, the Eagles had won five straight in the series and out-scored the Huskies 28-10 in those five games
• BC and NU have split four meetings this season, but the Eagles won the regular season series 2-1-0 including a 4-1 victory at Matthews Arena on Feb. 18

• Marc McLaughlin's second goal of the night with 9:04 left in overtime propelled Boston College to a thrilling 4-3 victory over New Hampshire on Wednesday in the Hockey East Opening Round
• The Wildcats came back from 3-1 down in the third period to force overtime, but Marshall Warren set up McLaughlin at the left doorstep and the senior roofed a shot to beat Mike Robinson
• McLaughlin became BC's first 20-goal scorer since former captain David Cotton three seasons ago, scoring his 20th and 21st goals of the season while adding an assist for a three-point night
• Jack McBain also posted three points, extending his goal scoring streak to seven games
• Eric Dop registered a season-high 44 saves, the third 40-save performance in his last four games, to push his personal winning streak to four in a row
BC IN THE TOURNEY
• The Eagles are the 8-seed for just the second time in tournament history and the first time since facing the 1995 tournament
• No 8-seed since 2014 has made it to the Hockey East Semifinal at TD Garden and no 8-seed has ever reached the Hockey East Championship Game
