Early foul trouble set the tone for the setback at Virginia Tech on Sunday. Four of the five starters committed at least four fouls, while Virginia Tech went 31-of-33 from the charity stripe. Cameron Swartz led the team with 18 points, while Makayla Dickens scored 14 points off the bench. Taylor Soule chipped in with 13 points. BC also struggled from the field, shooting just 36.1 percent.
A Win Would
- Improve the Eagles' record to 16-8.
- Give the Eagles a 7-6 mark in ACC play.
- Give BC its first top-five regular-season win since Jan. 23, 1999 (No. 2 UConn). The Eagles defeated then-No. 2 and No. 1 seed Ohio State (2006) in the NCAA Tournament and then-No. 3 UConn (2004) in the Big East Tournament.
- Snap a nine-game skid against NC State.
- Hand the Wolfpack their second conference loss.
Cheryl Miller Award Top 10 Watch List
Soule was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Top 10 Watch List, announced on Wednesday by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. The senior joins Emily Engstler as the only two players from the ACC to garner national recognition.
