Emmett Morehead threw for four touchdowns in his first start of the season
Duke got on the scoreboard first, covering 90 yards in six plays, capped by a 60-yard quarterback keeper, making it 7-0 less than three minutes into the game.
Boston College marched down the field on its next drive, using six plays to cover 70 yards, tying it at 7-7. After a 22-yard run by Alex Broome, Emmett Morehead connected with Joseph Griffin on a 36-yard sideline strike, setting the Eagles up in the end zone. Morehead and Zay Flowers connected for a two-yard TD with 8:06 left in the opening frame.
The Blue Devils scored 17 unanswered, before the Eagles orchestrated a touchdown drive to close out the half. Morehead and Griffin connected on a fade route with 50 ticks left in the half, making it 24-14. The touchdown capped a nine-play, 75-yard drive.
Duke extended it to 31-14, using a six-play, 63-yard scoring drive on its first possession of the second half. BC would respond with a second half score, as Morehead and Flowers connected again, this time for 18 yards and a touchdown, making it 31-21 with 3:31 to go in the third.
A Duke touchdown to start the fourth quarter made it 38-21 but BC pushed right back, as Morehead and Griffin connected on a 26-yard TD strike with 12:07 to go, making it 38-28.
Morehead finished the night 27-for-45 for 330 yards and four touchdowns. He spread the 27 completions across nine different receivers, led by Flowers' six catches (65 yards) and two TD's. Griffin made five catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Pat Garwo III made five catches (44 yards) and Alex Broome logged four receptions.   Broome rushed 10 times for 50 yards, while Garwo rushed nine times for 32 yards. Defensively, Kam Arnold made eight tackles, while Chibueze Onwuka, Jaiden Woodbey, and Vinny DePalma each logged seven stops.
Boston College travels to N.C. State on Saturday, Nov. 12. Kickoff in Raleigh between the Eagles and Wolfpack is set for 3:30 p.m. and the game can be seen live on ACC Network.
