Eagles Return Home Sunday to Host Rhode Island

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. RHODE ISLAND - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the 55th meeting between the two schools.
Boston College is 38-16 all-time vs. Rhode Island, dating back to 1911
The two teams played twice last year, with the Rams going 2-0. In 2020-21, BC and Rhody met in Bubbleville; the Eagles won, 69-64.
Head coach Earl Grant is 1-3 all-time vs. Rhody, having split a home/home series while at the College of Charleston from 2017-19.
Former BC great Duane Woodward '98 is in his first season on the coaching staff at Rhode Island.
Woodward was a four-year starter for the Eagles from 1994-98, helping lead BC to two trips to the NCAA Tournament.
He finished his career wth 1,249 points - good for 30th on the scoring list - and is third in steals (204) and sixth in assists (488) all-time.

MAKAI NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

Makai Ashton-Langford was named to the 2022 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam all-tournament team.
The veteran guard averaged 11.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists - including 17 points in the win over George Mason.
He made 5-of-9 shots from the floor, good for 12 points in the win over Wyoming.

ALLOW ME TO RE-INTRODUCE MYSELF

Jaeden Zackery scored a season-high 16 points in Boston College's win over Wyoming at the Paradise Jam.
Zackery led all scorers, making all eight of his free throw attempts, and four of his nine shots from the floor.
Prior to the scoring outburst vs. Wyoming, he had tallied 11 points in his previous two games - including a season-low four points against Tarleton State, going without a field goal for the first time in his 39-game career.
The sophomore guard ranks second on the Eagles in scoring, averaging 10.8 points per game.

Boston College's defensive efforts held Wyoming to 48 points - the lowest point total by an Eagles' opponent since March 8, 2022 (46 - Pittsburgh, ACC Tournament).

DEVIN WITH A PUNCH OFF THE BENCH

Devin McGlockton had the best game of his six-game Boston College career in the win over Wyoming at the Paradise Jam.
The 6-7 forward scored 12 points, making 5-of-8 shots from the floor - including 2-of-3 from the outside. He added four rebounds, an assist, a steal, and three blocked shots.
The last player to post a similarly complete stat line - Steffon Mitchell against Duke (12p/5r/1a/1s/3b).
McGlockton is the first Boston College player in at least 26 years to post that stat line coming off the bench.

ZACKERY'S 3-POINT EFFICIENCY

Dating back to last season, Jaeden Zackery ranks 12th nationally among all active players in 3-point field goal percentage.
Zackery has connected on 46.3% of his long-distance shots, making 56-of-121 from beyond the arc (39 games).

MIGHTY ON THE GLASS

Armani Mighty corralled 10 rebounds and two blocked shots over his last two games - in 17 minutes total.
The 6-10 newcomer grabbed five rebounds and tallied a block to go with five points in eight minutes against Tarleton State.
Last time out against Wyoming, he had five boards and a block in nine minutes of action.

McBLOCKTON

In six games this season, redshirt freshman Devin McGlockton has logged nine blocked shots.
He ranks fifth in the ACC in swats (1.5 bpg) and has rejected a season-best three shots twice (Detroit Mercy & Wyoming).
Boston College is 4-0 in games in which the 6-7 forward records at least one blocked shot.

Last season, when BC attempted 15 or fewer 3-pointers, it was 8-4; with 16 or more 3-point attempts, BC was 5-16.

CJ Penha Jr. came off the bench to score 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting (2-4 3FG) against Cornell.
He added 12 points and a season-best eight boards in the win over George Mason.
Penha Jr. ranks second on the Eagles in FG% (57.9%) and second in scoring (10.4 ppg).
The grad transfer compiled nearly 1,600 points at Taylor University (NAIA) and Trevecca Nazarene (DII), including 155 3FG's.
